Gray & Associates Recruitment Services

Congratulations to Anthony

Anthony Grout

Anthony Grout winner – TEMP OF THE QUARTER Jul – Sept 2018.

We always like to surprise our winners, and this always involves making secret arrangements to ensure the recipient is in place.

Anthony is in a new assignment who were thrilled to help. They ensured Anthony was at his desk when Leanne and Jean turned up to announce him as the Winner of Temp of the Quarter.

Anthony was certainly surprised! Well done Anthony very deserved.  Anthony has been nominated in the past but this is his first.

Anthony was presented with a £50 voucher, flowers and a Gray goodie bag

Anthony joined us in February as temporary cover for our Postgraduate Teaching & Learning Administrator post while we recruited to the post on a permanent basis. Despite joining at a very busy time (approx. 2 weeks before a set of internal examinations which the PG Administrator is responsible for organizing) Anthony fitted into the team seamlessly and picked up what was required very quickly. Over the coming months Anthony built strong, positive working relationships with key members of academic staff in our department, all of whom were very impressed with his initiative, reliability and positive attitude.

Often a period of temp cover between permanent appointments is just a case of keeping matters ticking over until a new roleholder is appointed but with Anthony that was emphatically not the case – he was proactive in pointing out ways we could improve our systems and working methods.

After we had recruited to the PG Administrator post, we were so impressed with Anthony’s performance that we retained him for another two months to work on updates to our website, Moodle pages and Student Handbook, bringing content up to date and ensuring consistent presentation throughout. His eye for detail and initiative was crucial here and I feel he has made a tangible, positive impact for the department.

On a personal level Anthony was a pleasure to work with and I know that many of my colleagues (both academic and administrative) feel the same. As noted above I would have no hesitation in either recruiting Anthony again for a role, or recommending him for a post elsewhere
