Do you have experience of managing a caseload and making case progression decisions? Would you like the opportunity to work within a regulatory body?


To contribute to the work of the Case Reception and Triage function within the Fitness to Practise Department by providing proactive case support across the function and managing a caseload of miscellaneous, health and character and protection of title cases.


  • Maintain electronic systems, and databases, to monitor and record case information making sure it is kept up to date, accurate and accessible in accordance with the Data Protection Policy.
  • Provide a point of contact for queries and telephone calls about own caseload.
  • Prepare correspondence to a variety of parties including complainants, registrants, lawyers and other stakeholders in relation to own caseload and to assist case managers.
  • Prepare bundles for health and character declarations for consideration by a Panel.
  • Present health and character declarations to Panel.
  • Proactively manage a caseload of miscellaneous cases, health and character declarations and protection of title cases by liaising with internal and external stakeholders, gathering and analysing case information and making case progression decisions.
  • Work closely with the Administration Team to ensure the timely distribution of information.
  • Provide assistance with the scanning, photocopying and redaction of case documentation as and when required.
  • Provide assistance and cover for the Case Support Team as and when required.
  • Understand the information security requirements for information accessed or processed in carrying out the duties of the role, treating the information with appropriate care as set out in the Information Classification and Handling Policy.

  • Experience of managing a caseload and making case progression decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability in providing high level administrative and case support.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently using initiative.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment, with a flexible approach.
  • Demonstrated ability in preparing and drafting correspondence, writing reports and compiling information and hearing bundles in accordance with set processes.
  • Well-developed organisational skills, accuracy in work and the ability to deliver work to defined timescales.
  • The ability to follow processes and procedures, including the ability to seek advice where appropriate.
  • An understanding of professional regulation, or willingness to develop same.
  • A high standard of telephone skills and demonstrated ability to show sensitivity and tact in dealing with confidential matters.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, including the ability to communicate professionally with customers from all backgrounds.
  • Sound working knowledge of window based software packages, including word processing, spread sheets, databases, electronic mail, and the internet.
  • Ability to deal fairly, sensitively and pragmatically with people from all levels and from a diverse range of backgrounds, including people who may be vulnerable
  • Contribute constructively to discussion, listening to others’ perspectives.
  • Keep others informed of issues that affect them or their work, providing relevant and timely information.
