We are recruiting for an experienced Communications Administrator, with experience of maintaining websites to join one of London’s leading Universities. You must be available for the full duration of this post.


* For this post, there will be a focus on website work, so you MUST have prior experience of managing websites *




  • Working with the Communications team in producing, delivering and evaluating the Institute’s communication strategies and platforms.
  • Help to prepare press releases and news items, liaising with the Faculty Communications and Marketing team.
  • Proof-read correspondence, documents, journals and other textual outputs.

Online communications

  • Update the Institute’s website. This will include writing, editing and uploading content, selecting and sizing images and multimedia.
  • Update and monitor the Institute’s social media channels including the planning of content, proofreading and reporting on analytics.
  • Help to prepare and distribute the Institute’s e-newsletter including the planning of content, proofreading, layout and reporting on analytics.


  • Proofread and format reports, documents, working papers, and other publications, as well as write accompanying content such as news, case studies and web content for a variety of audiences.
  • Liaise with designers and printers to produce booklets, leaflets and other marketing materials for a variety of audiences.


  • Assist in the production and dissemination of publicity, publications, prospectuses and other digital and paper-based promotional materials as directed by the Faculty Communications and Marketing team.
  • Assist with the creation and promotion of multimedia content, including data visualisations and films.



  • Computer literacy, including competency in word processing (e.g. Microsoft Word) and familiarity with the rest of the Microsoft suite of software (especially Excel and Outlook) as well as diary management software and Google Analytics
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicated and tailor content effectively to different formats and audiences.
  • Excellent editing skills.
  • Strong organisational skills, time management and project management skills, including the ability to work effectively on numerous group and individual projects simultaneously.
  • Graphic Design skills and familiarity with design software packages.
  • Experience of working in a communications role.
  • Experience of using social media to promote an organisation, project or campaign.
  • Experience of creating and managing news and media content.
  • Experience of using content management systems for maintaining websites.
  • Familiarity with desktop publishing packages, such as Adobe InDesign, and / or photo editing software.
