We are seeking an experienced Communications Officer who can manage various communication channels including Newsletters and Social Media accounts. To work with another Communications Officer jointly taking the lead on the day to day public affairs activity.


    • Manage channels which support stakeholder communications including e- newsletters and social media accounts.
    • Support the External Affairs Manager in all aspects of stakeholder communications,
    • Lead specific stakeholder engagement campaigns
    • Attend a range of stakeholder meetings, conferences and events UK-wide.
    • Deliver external talks
    • Develop relationships with European stakeholders and parliamentarians.
    • Respond to telephone, letter and email enquiries
    • Write, submit and present papers to Committees and Council
    • Maintain the systems and processes for the stakeholder communication function
    • Contribute to the ongoing development of departmental processes
    • Support the communications department in the delivery of projects and activities
    • Prepare reports and statistical information
    • The post will involve some travelling and working outside of normal office hours attending meetings and events.



  • Experience or a willingness to deliver presentations and respond to questions from varied audiences.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, including the ability to communicate professionally with all stakeholders and registrants.
  • Effective team player with the ability to gain credibility and respect across the organisation and also contribute to team discussion and to the ongoing development of the
  • department.
  • Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle a number of tasks at once and prioritise work
  • Ability to exercise initiative with minimum supervision.
  • The ability to follow processes and procedures, including the ability to seek advice where appropriate.
  • Experience and knowledge of parliamentary processes.
  • Sound working knowledge of window-based software packages, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, email, and the internet.
