Are you looking for a challenging role?   We are recruiting for a Governance & Legal Advisor to join a leading University in Central London.


The main purpose of the role is to provide legal and clerical support to the School’s Governance and Executive Services Office. On a day-to-day basis, you will work closely with the School’s Head of Legal Services and Executive Officer, as well as the School Secretary.


    • Communicating complex governance and legal concepts to a non-specialist audience.
    • Giving regular and relevant progress reports/updates
    • Building effective working relationships.
    • Supporting the Head of Legal Services and Executive Officer
    • Providing support on a wide variety of legal issues, including
      • Commercial law (including contract drafting and review);
      • Information law (including data protection and freedom of information)
      • Student/University issues (including consumer legislation);
      • Employment law; and
      • Litigation (including disclosure)


  • Honours degree in law
  • Potentially a professional qualification in law e.g. LPC, BVC  or Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Previous experience working in a firm of solicitors or with in-house legal services or similar (e.g. CAB, law clinic)
  • Good knowledge of a range of areas of law, e.g., Commercial law and contracts, Litigation
  • Energetic, self-motivated, flexible and adaptable with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
