We are recruiting for an experienced Programme Services Manager  to join one of London’s leading Universities.  If you have previous experience gained within a Higher Education institute in a similar post, we’d love to hear from you!



Duties and responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Institute strategies, policies and procedures relating to learning and teaching activity
  • Ensure the provision of consistent and effective administrative support for undergraduate, postgraduate taught and postgraduate research programmes at the Institute
  • Provide leadership and management to learning and teaching professional staff
  • Support the work of other professional service departments
  • Work closely with academic departments and specifically Heads of Academic Departments or their nominees to support business planning processes
  • Provide professional support as appropriate to academic colleagues with leadership responsibilities for learning and teaching activity
  • In collaboration with other professional service departments, lead on, coordinate or assist with preparations as appropriate for external audits, accreditation and inspection events
  • As a member of the management team, contribute to the strategic direction and operation of the Department



  • Experience of administrative management
  • Experience of line management, with the ability to motivate and support staff
  • Experience of setting and delivering overall standards of service, for both internal and external clients
  • Well developed interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly proficient IT skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and flexibly
  • Taking pride in delivering an excellent service to colleagues, students, partners and the wider community
  • Encouraging staff to develop and progress within the organisation Managing multiple projects
  • Defining objectives and setting out clear and relevant future goals
  • Making sense of complex issues even when information is incomplete
