Start 26th June 2017 for one month initially, extension possible

 

Are you an experienced Receptionist / Administrator who has previously worked within a University in a customer support role? If so, I’d love to hear from you!

 

THE ROLE

The postholder will be responsible for providing efficient and professional administrative support to underpin the work of the professional services team and the department. This is a varied role, with multiple areas of responsibility that requires a postholder with the ability to prioritise and be flexible.

The role requires interaction with many people, thus a professional attitude, a willingness to help and a positive outlook are required. The role is located in the reception area of the department and the postholder must be sensitive to the needs of colleagues whose work demands a high degree of concentration.

 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provision of general administrative support to staff and students.
  • Undertake photocopying and scanning.
  • Preparing refreshments for internal meetings.
  • Sorting and distributing post, taking messages, greeting visitors;
  • Assisting the School Administrators with basic meeting organisation, filing and project work.
  • Reception Duties/customer service.
  • Responsibility for the Departmental meeting rooms – setting up/tidying up rooms and maintaining bookings diary.

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Experience and skills

  • Personal Assistance experience.
  • Strong inter-personal and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • An excellent standard of written and spoken English.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise.
  • Good IT skills with the ability to use MS Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Able to work as part of a team.

  • Excellent time-management skills.
