Are you an experienced Administrator with experience of working within a Higher Education Institute dealing with Recruitment and payment processing? Would a role within one of London’s leading Universities be of interest to you? If so, I would love to hear from you!

                                   

MAIN PURPOSE

The post holder will be required to carry out a range of administrative tasks relating to recruitment and the processing of payments on behalf of employees.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To start recruitment activity by taking approved recruitment requests from managers and setting up the vacancy on the online recruitment system
  • To be responsible for the administration of all vacancies within their area, ensuring that vacancies are advertised, monitoring the response rate, dealing with any queries from candidates, setting up interview schedules and ensuring the manager and candidate is kept up to date through the recruitment process
  • To meet and greet candidates for interview and undertake right to work checks
  • To request employment references and ensure that the successful candidates details are passed through to the central HR team in order that contracts can be issued and payroll are informed
  • To be responsible for the administration of contract variations and leavers, ensuring that details are accurately passed through to the central HR team
  • To support the appointment and payment of Honorary, Affiliates. Sessionals and Casual workers
  • To process one off payment requests including but not limited to additional hours, adhoc hours and overtime
  • To record and report on sickness absence
  • The postholder will carry out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job as requested by the line manager or Head of Department/Division

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of people both internally and externally
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills with the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Strong team working skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • The ability to analyse problems and identify potential solutions
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to understand the needs of the customer and respond to those needs
  • Prior experience of providing efficient, professional and proactive administrative support
  • Experience of using Microsoft packages and IT databases
  • Experience of financial administration

Desirable

  • Prior HR experience with knowledge of HR and recruitment databases
  • Experience of working in an administrative capacity within Higher Education
