Start end of August to the end of September 2017 initially

 

Are you experienced within a Student facing role, providing help and guidance to students? Do you have experience of coordinating events? If so, I’d love to hear from you.

 

PURPOSE OF JOB

Assisting with the arrangements for a wide portfolio of activities that contribute to enhancing the student experience such as start or session activities for new students, the International Students Orientation Programme, international students’ workshops and the Graduation Ceremonies.

 

MAIN DUTIES

  • To support efficient student administration processes from pre-enrolment to graduation.
  • To assist in the organisation and running of the welcome and induction activities for new students including the International Students Orientation Programme.
  • To support the administration, coordination and management of the Graduation Ceremonies.
  • To provide information and support to students visiting the Student Centre or those areas that are the responsibility of Student Support or refer to other services as appropriate.
  • To revise and update any relevant publications, including web information relating to new students and graduation ceremonies and to provide information and support through the use of social media technologies.
  • To contribute to the development and implementation of a communications strategy for staff, students and graduates in relation to all events managed by Student Support.
  • To ensure effective communication with line manager regarding work in progress, implementation of developments and emerging trends or issues.

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Relevant employment in a customer focused environment within HE
  • Experience of event management
  • Proven supervisory experience, with an ability to lead and motivate staff
  • Experience of preparing student-focused publications
  • Experience of conducting or co-ordinating benchmarking and/or audit-based activities
  • Knowledge of the SITS student information system
