We are recruiting for an experienced Teaching Administrator to join one of London’s leading Universities. If you have previous experience gained in a similar post within a Higher Education institute, we’d love to hear from you!



Teaching Administration

  • Provide administrative service to teaching activities of the department
  • Organise timetables and room bookings
  • Provide student support and services: guidance, information and communication, including developing and updating websites
  • Maintain and update Moodle for a range of modules
  • Deal with all aspects of assessment for the relevant programmes
  • Administration of exam papers, collating and processing module marks (for coursework and exams), and exam board preparation for finalists and progressing students
  • Coordinate the Research Projects process, including call for projects, project documents, contracts and assessments.
  • Arrange supervisor approvals and projects peer reviews
  • Organise the Annual Poster Competition as part of the Postgraduate Research Open Day in liaison with the Senior Research Degrees Administrator
  • Coordinate programme and module approval, registration and amendment processes
  • Provide support for short/CPD courses
  • Coordinate Quality Assurance processes at module and programme level, supporting the annual review and amendment of modules and academic programmes in consultation with programme directors
  • Provide support for professional accreditation of programmes, as relevant
  • Take responsibility for the submission of news items for the monthly Director’s Bulletin
  • Support teaching and budget-related activities, including some HR and finance administration
  • Maintain files and records of students, including providing support in the admissions process
  • Monitor data to ensure student progress information is being recorded and provide information and statistics when required; for Tier 4 student engagement, for example
  • Create and collate reports for student feedback on modules
  • Assist with the organisation of the annual taught programmes Open Evening

Other responsibilities

  • Attend relevant meetings at team, Faculty and College levels
  • Provide cover to others in the teaching administration team as required
  • To be an active team player in the Education Administration Team



  • Experience of student admissions in a higher or further education environment
  • Knowledge of Higher Education strategies, structures, and processes, as well as quality assurance practices
  • Experience of dealing with student or customer enquiries in a professional and helpful manner
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work without direct supervision; to manage own workload and display good organisational ability
  • The ability to be discreet and maintain confidentiality in accordance with current GDPR legislation
  • Familiarity with a variety of software systems used commonly in Higher Education (eg. SITS, CMIS, Moodle/Blackboard, etc)
  • An ability to prioritise and work under the pressure of competing demands, while maintaining high standards and meeting tight deadlines
  • A willing and resilient attitude, and the ability to learn quickly
