Nominated by Rachel Corcoran, Programme Manager, UCL GEO.
Sofia has been with the team for 7 months now and her assistance has been vital for the smooth running of our flagship seed-funding programmes which fund academics’ international collaborations.
She has demonstrated a mastery at managing large data sense with ease and precision. Her relentless attitude to chasing up key information from colleagues has made a big difference. She achieved a near 100% response rate to a report we requested from 80+ colleagues (of those which were actually in a position to complete a report). This meant we were able to include key information she had obtained in our annual report to Council, the most senior group of the university. This would not have been possible without her determination and persistence! Her willingness to learn is also a key asset – she has mastered a number of Excel and PowerPoint tricks to aid efficiency. She has helped improve future processes by logging lessons learned, so we can benefit from her knowledge even after she moves on. She has been a key member of the team and her flexibility, patience, willingness to learn and attitude has made her a pleasure to work with. We will be sad to see her move on and wish her all the best in her future endeavours.
Leanne and Jean surprised Sofia presenting her with a bag of goodies including Chocolates, personalised certificate and a £50 Voucher
